Rob's Super Complete Analysis of Attacking Races

Time has shown that once the game slows down in mid age, only the races that can achieve the best OPA/DPA can continue to make good sized grabs and grow at a good pace. Of course, there are millions of factors that determine whether one race is "better" than another. This analysis will attempt to realistically compare all the attacking races by first calculating the max OPA with 60 DPA home without taking into account the possibility that some race advantages may add befenits that could free up land which could be used to improve OPA. This is done to simplify the comparsion and save me hours of calc time. After the final OPA is listed, a number scale from 1-10 is used to compare economy, thievery, magic, attack power (land grab size and extra attibrutes that benefit attacking), speed (rate at which a province learns, attacks, builds, etc.) based on each race's bonuses. A rating of 7 shows that the race has no benefits or disadvantages to the area.

Calculations done with the following assumed:

100 Acres
1500 Jobs
2500 Peasants
Max Science
100% Building Effeciency
100% Military Strength
All Jobs Filled
60% Homes (Used to create more realistic numbers due to the probability that most players will not have all jobs filled. They will most likely sacrifice happiness for more offense.)
All offense troops are mounted on horses.
60 DPA raw required
60 DPA = 6,000 dp = 1,500 Defense Specs = 800 X/6 Elites, 300 Defense Specs

Races that must attack with their elite are assumed to have about the following ratio for their troops dedicated to offense:

1/2 Elites
1/2 Offense specs

Due to the fact that they must have a portion of their army as offense specs to continue to gain more elites during attacks.

Races that use their elite for defense are assumed to have about the following ratio for their troops dedicated to defense:

3/4 Elites
1/4 Defense specs

The reasoning is that races that attack with all offense specs are gaining twice as many elites as races attacking with 1/2 elites and 1/2 offense specs so those using elites for defense will around 50% more.

And hereby is it truly proved that undead will be the most worthless race this round, and that avian still suck, even tho not as much as last round.

Clarifying to avoid confusion:

My term "Attack Power" does NOT rate how good of an attacker the race is. The definition is in the introduction:

Attack Power: Rating of the race's "land grab size and extra attibrutes that benefit attacking"

Not as much as my Undead/Warrior account

Don't forget all our bonuses =) While you are running farms, lossing your elites in battle and the plague have spread out in your people we will declare war at you

But let's wait and see...I'm sticking with undead

Through I would have chosen Orc if it wasn't for all those wars =)

orcs will need higher thief and wizzard numbers to get equivelent numbers but still they rock for attacking but little defence against pesky t/m's

Just get some WT's and extra guilds. With nightmare reduced you wont have to really worry about losing all your troops.
ORCS are the best attackers. cause that is what they were made to be.

In my analysis I tried to get an estimate of maximum opa in most conditions. I agree, Undead may be a bit weak in OPA, they could be strengthened a bit by taking into consideration that they don't have to build 8% farms, but even then it's not enough to to bring them up more than 5-7 OPA. I just wanted to simplify my calculations without worrying about other race bonuses and disadvantages. Maybe for version two, if there is one, I'll figure out a way to represent the land saved/lost due to race penalities and bonuses.

Consider the OPA and good estimtate and the other ratings of economy, thievery, etc. strong factors for choosing between those races with similar numbers.

I agree undead may not be the best attacking race, but for an all war kingdom, they seem to be the only option.

We will just have to see what war kingdom setups are the best... I do agree that Faeries are an important element because they can cast Nightmare, but a kingdom with 6 Halfling Rogues can completely destroy all the WPA of 12 Faery Mystics, poof, theres goes their NMing ability. All Undead may gang bang with economic efficiency because they don't have to retain offense, but what if Human attackers are hitting provinces 110% their size while Undead are hitting 85% their size? Humans may still out on top with land. An active war kd wouldn't have to worry about the Plague much, 3 NB will cure it and most attackers would be running some Hospitals.

Well, those are just some ideas, but of course in the end, it doesn't matter on what races a kingdom choses (unless they're going Halfling attackers, haha), but on how active and prepared a kingdom is for war.

this is good for good players but not many ppl actually have max housing science that is why undead are good take the sceince out and they are desent. they had the same figures last age and rocked becouse not many ppl had max science if they did Undead are bad but untill then undead will still be ok.

I still think Humans will be the best attackers but Orc's will be better out of war jus when in they have to hope the other kd dont tear them up
