provence Aurora

Each provence has Multipul Auroras around it, these deturmine many things about that provence, the Auroras around a provence shows much about the people within. This is a chart showing what 1 aurora of each type will do:

Fire Aurora: the touch of destruction.
+4% attack strength. (have you felt the heat?)
+10% razed or massacred. (fire's destruction)
-3% military losses. (fire can protect it's own)
-10% income. (destruction is not good for business)

Wind Aurora: chaotic winds
-11% attack time. (the wind is fast)
ignore 20% of building and spell mods. (you can not stop the chaos)
-15% elite conversions. (chaos is not good for training)

Growth Aurora: vibrant life
+15% food production. (life is abundant)
+7% growth rate. (life is good)
+20% yeild on paradice spell. (land is precious)
+8% land lost in combat. (peace make them soft)

Water Aurora: the seas of destiny
-12% rune cost. (the sea lends its strength)
+4% income. (the sea holds many treasures)
-5% deffence. (the sea is vast, it holds many surprises)

Nonspecific Aurora:
no bonuses or hinderences

Each provence, upon creation can choose which auroras it wants around it's land. There is a maximum of 3 auroras to a provence, and certain races cannot choose certain auroras. The following is a list of which races can be have which Auroras.

Orc: fire, wind
Elf: growth, water
Human: fire, growth
Feary: growth, water, fire, wind (magic, they are magic)
Avain: wind, water
Dwarf: growth, fire
Undead: fire, water
Halfling: growth, water

*Note: any provence can choose nonspesific aurora as well as the ones listed above.

You can choose three auroras, so for example you were a Feary attacker and chose 2 fire auroras and 1 water, this would be your provence effects:

Advant.:
+8% attack strength
+20% razed or massacred
-6% military losses
-12% rune cost
Disadvant.:
-16% income (-20% plus +4% income)
-4% deffence

This could be the new system of Auroras.

errr, do you mean aura ? Because if my memory doesn't fewling around w/ meh, Aurora is something you see in the arctic circle !?

you right, it is the same thing, your Auroras 'hang over' your provence, so people can see it

not sure bout the numbers though, anything that goes much over 5% seems overpowered to me

i made the numbers (kinda) big for a reason, what you pick for this basically deturmines what you will be for the next age, if you think they are too big, I could always divide everything by two or something. Also, it is vercitile, unlike your personality, you could have a combo for this. you could be all of oen type, or you can distribute it, but you always have to take into account all of the disadavntages as well, dont want to cripple your provence...

well, an Avian with 3 wind auras would have 4 hour attack times I think... and the elite training would still be more than the norm...

I know what, I'll play Avian, 40% raxx, 20% arms.... nvr stop attacking from immediately OOP, the only disadvantage the wind aura has is less elite training, but hey I already HAVE +100%, whats a few minuses to that?

or a dwarf with 3 growth auras... way more food and growth making them emerge OOP with maybe double everybody's size, and they can STAY there with the +20% dicing... +24% gains against him? so what? he already HAS +20% attack gains agains other ppl, it just about evens out...

once again, would only amplify that races advantage WITHOUT amplifying the penalties

no, avians could go 40% rax, but over all, they would only have -63% attack time, that is only 13% more than what max rax would give,

for the dwarf dicer, what would be the point, shure you could get REALLY big, but sooner or later, they would get raped, utterly, sooner or later they are going to reallize that there would be no point to dwarf explorer. they could not attack, or anything, they would be the perfect suicider target! +24% gains on a suicide!

but still, will ad more dis advantages:

Fire: add
-33% free buildings from attacks. (destruction is beautiful)

Wind: add
+10% combat losses. (chaos does not save lives)

Growth: add
+10% rune cost. (runes a alien to life)

Water: add
-5% offence. (the sea is vast, it holds many surprises)

plus dwaves can not be growth, they are now either fire or water

the idea is ok, maybe just 1 aura would be better but i dont think the numbers are very good.

yah, i will try to suggest it at the utopia forrums, IF he reads it, he would probably like it, cause all of the code he would need to have would Already be in the game, he would just have to add a little bit, good idea, i will put it there ....

Well, I haven't really evaluated the actual numbers, but the idea as such is one of the best I have ever seen on these forums. GREAT job.

The idea itself is good for only one aura. The numbers need changes, however. fire is overpowered and water is underpowered.

yah, i am getting a UT forrum account, cant believe no one thought of this before! And thank you for the new numbers ... this would add a whole new diminsion to the game, using code that is already inplace, i would be surprised if mehule doesn't like it after reading it!
