Pathetic piece of crap. I pity the teenagers of today if this is they understand under a great movie, great book or great romance. Oh and it's a shameful stain on the whole vampire mythos

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common; they don't alter their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit the views

Totally agree stunning peice of crap ........ they dont just put their own spin on the vampire story but bend it so far out of shape this is not a vampire movie .....

And seriously the fight scene no fangs, no violence just pushing and shoving with growls ..... so pathetic.

I disagree with the above posts. Best movie ever! But then it is a chick flick - guys just don't understand.

And it was a very good representation of the book - much better than pretty much any other book-turned-movie I've ever seen.

Why should all vampire movies be the same? This one is more about the romance than the fight/fangs/whatever. It's a girl movie - they don't want to make it too gruesome.

FYI I'm female.

I went with one of my friends, and it was a little awkward at first (being the ONLY two guys in the theater), but then the movie ended up being hilarious. It wasn't on purpose though. We were more laughing at the quality of the acting, and the 'effects' that were used. I am of course speaking of the running/climbing in the woods. We couldn't stop laughing during the hospital scene. It was amazingly funny. We did end up getting a death glare from every girl in the theater when we left though...

If you go to laugh at it I'd say 3.5/5 but if you actually want to watch it for the content then I'd say 1/5 ...tops

being feamle or not has nothing to do with the quality of this movie ... it just plain sucks ..... I think what is more important is age group, my daughters agree with you and think its brilliant ......they are also very young ......

It's really not hard to turn a bad book into a bad movie.
I'm also guessing you haven't seen Lord of the Rings?

It's like saying backstreet boys are a good band because you find them awesome. It's about the quality of the movie, not the hormones of women. It's like me saying some pornographic movie has a good plot or acting because I find the women hot and it's a guy movie... If the male actors in that movie, and the vampires in the book were designed to be ugly, do you actually think you would have enjoyed it?

Funnily enough, I assumed so. I don't think many straight guys out there would defend it with much passion.

Twilight is a slap in the face to every other vampire movie out there. It will take years, if not decades to recover from this.

I personally am male and liked Twilight. I have no care for vampire mythos and if someone wants to say that vampires glitter in the sunlight I don't mind it. I've gotten pretty sick of every vampire movie being exactly the same thing over and over again. Blade, Underworld, Van Helsing etc... they're all the same (or very similar) and Twilight wanted to be a little different. Yes the movie was geared towards an audience (10-20 year old's) and even though I am out of that age group (26) I didn't feel put off by it.

First of all, those three movies you mentioned sucks pretty hardcore.. They're all action movies, with vampires as monsters (yes, even in Underworld, they are more or less monsters, there to be killed). Try watching Interview with a vampire. Its a whole different kind of movie. (Dont get me wrong, I like blade and underworld, but for the action scenes, they're not good as "vampire movies".)

I read the books awhile back, and I was stunned by how bad they managed to make the movies! It just.. SUCKED! Really, aweful movie, I really despised it. It was just so.. Silly. Im so not looking forward to "Twilight 2: Sometimes they come back" or whatever silly title it will have.

1/10

and I'll counter you pretty shit selection of vampire movies with

The Hunger
Love at First Bite
Nadja
Blood: The Last Vampire
Night Watch
Day Watch
From Dusk Till Dawn
The Lost Boys
Interview with the Vampire ..... even if Louis is a whiny bitch and Tom Cruise was so so very wrong for Lestat
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Bram Stokerís Dracula
Cronos
Ultraviolet ..... British TV show
Hellsing
Shadow of the Vampire
30 Days of Night
Dracula
Nosferatu
and finally Nosferatu the Vampyre

there's tonnes of great vampire movies out there that follow the traditional vampire idea ... ranging from the peasant impression of vampires (Nosferatu) right up to the modern day eggxisting in big city vampires (ultraviolet, Nadja) .... non fucking sparkle in the sunlight.

Your selection of american action movies don't do vampire movies any credit.

I think it was one of the worst movies I had ever seen...terrible effects, very cheesy, and bad acting and directing.

If you want to see a real chick flick worth a damn, go watch Gone with the Wind.
