Took too much time and too much energy.. to the point i might say it colonized my mind. I'd regularly find myself waking up and having my first thought of the day be about utopia; be in the shower and not even realize i was there because i'd be busy planning war strats; being at friends and constantly finding my mind occupied by the thought of having to log in.. Pure addiction when you think about it. After a week-long war including constant nightly wake-ups-to-attack i had completely had it, and was finally forced to conclude utopia really just isn't good for me.. much as i may like it.

Won? You mean finished first in nw, or what?
Anyway, to answer the question.. As with all others, it was too time consuming. That, and the requirements to use PIMP, be active on MSN, be available all hours of the day etc etc.

I cut off my last attempt after being hit 6 times in a row or so during a war. Apparantly my TpA was too low after all. I underestimated the intensity in the first days of war, I came in late and was busy catching up. In the last war I was at 93k and hitting on 140k guys. This war I was a target though. Ater the wave of attacks I concluded that I wouldn't be able to catch up to the rest of my kingdom this age. Decided I didn't wanna waste weeks waiting for the age to end. Prevented a new utopia addiction :P

Earlier, I played a straight 16 ages in a row with the same kingdom, of wich I was monarch for 14 of em. Eventually I got bored because any empty slots would fill up with noobies. It's a fun game, but if I play it I wanna go at it fully. And even if I dont want to I end up doing it :P

Stopped playing the game in age 38, still follow the forums on angel. Why i stopped playing ?
First: it demanded too much time, i took it very serious. Second: i was offended too many times by people who knew everything better but were not able to launch 2 attacks/day at least during war (maybe they could during 1 or 2 days but than they gave up). Three: this game needs new players but most kd's won't take time to educate them and insult them instead, the harship i met took away the pleasure of playing this fantastic game.
My respect to the good people i met, and especially to the good king BetterLateThanNever who had the patience to let me learn the game and didn't kick me out of his kd after all the stupid things i did.

The Kingdom did. Don't remember my own score and don't care much. Can't check cos the Swirve history appears to be dead.

Have to say I don't quite miss the game though. Have had a few people try to lure me back in (<3 polgy), but don't see the point.

Has changed hands and now the operators are lost, and has gotten even more stupid kids than ever before. It is not being played as it was meant to be played. All the fun of it has vanished. Now it is more like urban gang warfare. No honor no scruples and nothing to gain. Work hard to build up and be gang banged to death.

LOL

sinse when is that new ?

I was gangbanged and kept at 90K for an entire age once because I cracked the top charts with an Ork and streamed ahead of everyone else ........

and this was in the single digit ages.

I love the romantic "memory" people form of this game.

Well its pretty much over. I quit for many of the obove reasons. I play now just to help out the old ones that asked. But Utopia does not rule my life like it did five years ago.

I left the game 2x in the last 6 years I have played it, for about 9 months total. Dishonorable gaming, xloggers, people with 10 provs (they REALLY need to get a life) and people that just bash new people to the game. Not willing to train, just raze them out of the kd. It is NOT Mehul or OMAC that killed the game, it is that type of play that did

I quit around age 24. Age of heros (so whichever that was) and at the time the game was pretty popular SKD's everywhere and that made it boring. Alliances left and right where your kingdom gets scared to war for fear of being triple teamed from an alliance.

The gameplay of the players ruined it. It scared people off and people took the game to seriously. You dont have to be obsessed with the game. Get in a decent KD that doesnt go psycho over things and just chill. Use your experience to help better the KD and improve it. You can still enjoy the game you love without the need to login 6 times a day.

I came back this age and i really am glad i did. Ive met some cool people and relearning the game with all the changes makes it challenging and fun. Had a few defection cause of bigtime ghetto's but i landed in a decent KD. One i think i can help build into a great KD in just a few ages time.

I never lived in fear i knew i'd die another die. I never viewed my life as something slipping away..

When a text-based game rules your life (getting up at 3am for an attack) you know it's time to quit.

I put other although I guess it could fall under the bored collumn. As others have mentioned the time and effort to become good was a drawback but really I think I found other games to play that were more interesting.

Re: Why did you leave

Being good or bad shouldn't be a factor, as it's a game which consists mainly out of maths, ask yourself what you want and enter the numbers, that's all there is to it. I haven't played since... I think at least 3 years, just starting again. Back then it was both boredom and the time it took to "play" once you got up in the ranks that caused me to quit, but here I'm sitting again, so it must be a decent game in someway, I just keep coming back.

for those that get bored in utopia , need to find new kingdom to play with , kingdoms your in atm obviously play for something different than you enjoy ...some kingdoms play for NW & SIZE , Some Kingdoms play for Honor , some kingdoms just want war all the time win or loose, while want to play for war wins , some want NO WARS its just a group to be social with kinda like a limited chat room , and there are more out there I hadn't seen , The kingdom I'm in now I was monarch of a kingdom that I tried to war with but very few of my prov.'s were interested in wars ..last war we had i defected after CF was over landed in what so far has been one of the best fitting kingdoms I myself have played in sense age 2 for my idea of what i want from utopia and though 90% of this kingdom is 12 hours apart from me so I am able to talk live with them rarely , we have a GREAT time with them my VERY ONLY complain about being part of this kingdom is not getting to talk to 'em regular excpet for messages , so I cant say even after 4 ages here that I really know any of them ....

question Oops

I forgot to click on "STAY WITH THIS KINGDOM" before the age ended, so was in limbo without the secret code. I generated a new account, and was dropped naked into some kingdom, and didn't feel like rebuilding to the level I was at during the 2 previous ages, My bad. my fault. Deleted that account. I guess I need some code to activate my old one now. Den (densbog)
