Day Start or Night Start?

I'm just wondering what everyone thinks is a better start and why.
I'm stuck trying to decide which better.

Doesn't hurt to discuss it though.

The advantage to a day start is that everyone has a chance to be a part of the game before two or three people get killed.

The advantage to a night start is that it gives people a chance to have something worth discussing.

If all else fails, call someone a troll.

I definitely prefer a night start. I sympathize with people who are killed on Night 1 (I would, wouldn't I? ), but it's part of the game. I like it when townies act on their own without direct guidance from a cop, but if you start with a day then that leaves preciously little to discuss. Besides, most day starts end up with a lynch anyway.

One possible alternative could be a short (24-36 hours) 'Twilight' at the start of the game, without the possibility of a lynch. Participation could be mandatory (at least one post or you're replaced), and it would give the players the chance to feel eachother out.

I think most day starts end up without lynches, making them rather pointless excercises in random bandwagons.

I much prefer a night start when you can do something, or at the very least have something to talk about the next day.

Of course if the mod puts in a hint day 1 to talk about, or there's people with day actions, that can change it around, making a day start pretty interesting and fun. But those are few and far between, making me vastly prefer a night start.

And if you play day 1 and then die night 1 it's not really like playing anyway. I'd much rather be killed night 1 in a nightstart then in a daystart.

Night Start.

Day start is either boring with no lynch or messy with random calls for Rc and bandwagonning.
