Raze vs Traditional

What exactly is the effect on the War meter between Raze and Traditional? I know Raze tends to do FAR more damage, but does a 200 acre Raze move the meter as much as 200 acre Traditional?

no,

a 200 acres trational march moves the bar 400 while a 200 acres raze moves the bar 200.

Okay, that is what I thought. I was almost positive it was half as effective, just wanted to make sure though. Appreciate it.

The War Meter - (Last Update: Age 30)

T/M Ops (except LL), Plunder, Massacre and Learn = 0 points (Reason: No land Exchanged or destroyed)
Raze = 0.5 points per acre (Reason: land is just destroyed and not taken back)
Traditional March, Ambush, Conquest and Land Lust = 1 point per acre (Reason: land is taken and then gained)

Let's say my kingdom took a total of 2500 acres and razed for 500 acres and the other kingdom took 2000 acres and razed for 1000 acres.

My Kingdom
2500 acres * 1 = 2500 points
500 acres * 0.5 = 250 points
2500 + 250 = 2750 total points

Other Kingdom
2000 acres * 1 = 2000 points
1000 acres * 0.5 = 500 points
2000 + 500 = 2500 total points

War Meter
2750 + 2500 = 5250 total points

My kingdom
2750/5250 = 0.5238 = 52.4%

Other kingdom
2500/5250 = .4761 = 47.6%

Meaning my kingdom would be winning 52.4% - 47.6%

Note:
The War Meter does not include land gained during hostile relations.
Also remember that land that is taken from the exploration pool does not count. You have to use a Crystal Eye to get an accurate reading of how many acres you have taken. Only use your kingdom's paper to get an accurate reading of what they have taken from your kingdom. Do not forget to add in any known Land Lusts.
If you can not get a CE you will have to times your amount taken by .9192, Because you take an average of 10% from the exploration pool.

Another question I thought of:

I know Inter KD Raze is 20% land Razed, but is there a set percentage for hitting another KD with Raze..or is it NW based like Traditional gains?

I believe that the formula for the war meter is as follows:

(Your land gained + their land lost ) / ( Your land gained + your land lost + their land gained + their land lost).

Remember, your land gained != their land lost due gains from the explore pool.

This also accounts for razes (in which you do not gain land) and reflected LL's (in which you only lose land). It also illustrates why many folks believe that a raze moves the meter half as much which would only be true if the enemy KD had an empty explore pool...otherwize raze will move the meter a tad less than half since you also lose gains from the explore pool.

enjoy!
